Indian peanuts are consumed in over 50 countries. Indian peanuts are the only source that are available all round the year. Crops are planted in two cycles and harvested in March and October. There are several other inter-cropping cycles which makes Indian peanut a prime source of supply.
India produces many peanut varieties, that include Java, Bold, TJ, Java Long, G20, K6, Mathadi, J24 and Western 44. Customers often buy the Java (white round shape) for hand to mouth consumption while the peanut butter factories choose bold & Tj depending on the process.
Indian Peanuts are widely sought after due to its high fat & high oil content that can be recovered and be used in multiple verticals of industry segments
We, RKR Agro Foods, follow direct ‘Farm to Factory’ approach and process Peanuts with strict adherence to internationally accepted quality standards. We supply to major Wholesalers, Retailers and Exporters as suited to their needs.
Sesame Seeds :
India produces a wide variety of sesame seeds that vary in color from white to red to black, and oil content ranging from 30% to 45%. The Chinese used sesame seeds 5000 years ago to prepare ink blocks while the Ancient Egyptians ground the seeds to use as flour.
The white and black sesame seeds are for consumption, the brown sesame seeds are for oil extraction. White Indian sesame seeds have a nutty taste and are used for making sweets, baked foods and confectionery. Black Indian sesame seeds are used for seasoning. And the hulled seeds are used for snacks.
80% of Indian sesame seed production happens during khariff season (June- July; September – October). The rest of the crop is cultivated in the rabi season (December to March). India’s largest Sesame producing regions are: Gujarat, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan.
